Graphic Novels

Yesterday was a relatively relaxing day. Yesterday morning, however, was a bit weird. But to tell the story I have to start three nights ago at Borders Books and Café.
While at Borders, Nikki was looking for some writing journals and I was looking for some Batman books. I wasn’t looking for comic books. I wanted to get novel. I already have one and I wanted another.
I went to the directory and searched for them only to find that graphic novels were the only thing there. “Graphic Novels”, better known as comic books are good easy reads and very entertaining but not at all what I wanted.
So I think I will write my own. I have tried this before to no avail. I have a plan for this one instead of shooting from the hip and writing whatever crap comes to mind.
I have given some thought to “publishing” my un-edited scenes in here for my adoring 3 person public to read and comment on. The only issue I have is that I am not going to write in order.
Nikki has been studying Poe and what his writing style is. One of Poe’s ideas that stuck with me is to pick a theme and then pick the ending and write backwards. I am going to attempt this. Although I have the opening scene and a middle scene, I guess that I could write a new opening and use those as my ending scenes. We’ll see.
One of the scenes came to me this morning while I was in the twilight sleep. You know, that stage between conscious thought and REM (rapid eye movement), better known as the dream stage. I have not written it quite yet because it is a bit detailed and would take a long while for me to hunt and peck it out. I’ll try and write it tonight while my girls are sleeping.
