Emotion Struck

There is something very powerful in music. Something very ...very touching about the passion that is in music. Most of the music that speaks to me is angry, or driven. I even get into some of the sad songs, but not very often.

While on my way home this morning from dropping my daughter off at school I, as usual, was singing along to my Ipod.

I felt a need to find a certain song but I wasn't sure which one it was. When the forward button stopped on "Hold Me Down" by Tommy Lee I let it fly.

I said to myself that this was a good song to help finish the waking up process. And it was. I got a few words into it and then emotions poured from me like a raging tsunami. I was overwhelmed and did my best to hold back tears. It didn't work.

It may sound silly and girlish for a man, like me, to tear up at a song. Honestly, it happens alot.

I can't describe the feeling with words. It wasn't sadness or anger or release. It was just emotion.

I didn't know the words to the song until I came home and looked them up. It is funny how a simple song about a struggle can hit the "I feel you man" button.

I watched a video on youtube. I didn't do anything for me but the words and the music and the emotion and passion felt through it are enough for me to take a step back and examine what it could be deep inside me the was struck by the song.
