Batmans Bust
Posted @ 8:07 p.m. on 2006-01-27

Along the “Batman” line of things, last night Wifey and I spent our evening putting together a 3-D puzzle. First of all let me say that I got this bust of Batman puzzle not only because of my fanaticism, but also because it was only one dollar.

Upon looking at the box, the shape and size, I thought that it was just a stand and shelf like pieces that followed some sort of sequence to build the bust. You know, maybe the puzzle was getting the pieces in the correct order.

I was WAY wrong. Not only were there 125 picture shelves to stack, they had to be assembled via jigsaw puzzle. Each shelf was its own little puzzle. We discovered this when we opened the box and found a stand and a bag full of jigsaw pieces. As my eyes grew bigger I thought that maybe I should document this grand undertaking. So I took pictures of the pre and post operation.

Here we are at the grand opening and sorting.

Wifey spent from 8:30 to 11:00 putting the darned thing together. She is much better than I am at putting puzzles together. We each had a section to work on. There were 5 total sections and we did the smart thing by starting with the bottom two sections. She had section 2 done before I was 75% done with section 1 so she helped me. She is such a doll. I knew there was a reason I loved her ;)

After 2 ½ hours we completed the Batman bust. My back was sore from bending over the table like an old codger trying to read and Nikki just smiled like it was nothing. So here it is, in its completed form.

After an ordeal like this one I was tired as all hell. So we had a quickie and went to bed. (I figure that I’ll get into the bed post notch count too there Smash with confidence that I’ll give you a run for your money.)

Tomorrow I’ll tell the story how Hubbyman physically wrestled 6 opponents and ended up with minor bumps and bruises.
