My 5 thingies

Let’s see if I can list 5 things about Hubbyman!

#1. Contrary to popular belief, due to a Soap Opera I was once in, I do not have soft dark eyes. I have cool, invigorating, blue-gray eyes. I just used the brown colored contact lenses to hide my true identity. Everyone knows I’m good at that given my night profession.

#2. I am currently engaged in a series of books by a well known author by the name of Robert Holdstock . His style of writing just brings the books to life. His recent work called “The Merlin Codex” has two books, Celtica and The Iron Grail, both of which are great books. I am wrapped up in a book called “Mythago Wood”. I have read it a while ago and decided to get the second in this series. There are 6 books total in the Mythago Wood cycle. I hope to read them all this year. Call it a New Year resolution if you will.

#3. I really despise people who think that they should get respect before earning it. I am all for giving someone the benefit of the doubt on first meeting, but if they think that I should kiss the ground that they walk on then they are in for a big surprise. I run into many of these people at work. In the military there are people who will be higher in rank. This meant that they are higher ranking, not superior. I am the type of person to look at someone and scoff at them if they think they know more or are better than me, and then I challenge them. It usually ends up to their embarrassment. There have been a few occasions where I was defeated. Those situations usually end up with a mutual respect between me and my opponent.

#4. Everyone can read my profile and see that I like Metallica. That is no lie. I also like classical music and jazz. There are certain settings where a classical sound or a jazz sound best fit the occasion. For example, I like listening to the French jazz CD that we have when I want to read and drink coffee. I listen to Metallica in the car, partly because Wifey doesn’t like but a few of their songs. That’s OK, I love her anyway.

#5. I was, and still remain, a Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. That may not mean anything to anybody but it is a prestigious title. Scouting is all over the world. It originated in England by Lord Robert Baden-Powell in the 1800s and has evolved since then. The Scouting program was originally designed to be a pre-military org. I has evolved into an outdoor survival meets corporate leadership training. It gives boys the skills to be successful in their lives. I began my own Boy Scout Troop on my military base and have seen it grow over the past year. No small feet to say the least. It was satisfying to see boys from the neighbor hood come together and work as a team when there is so much juvenile delinquency in this world.
